I've been lax in posting to the blog. That doesn't mean nothing has happened, though.
Last week was full of stuff. Most of it was good. Some of it sucked. On Tuesday we finished taping the first half of the QuizBusters season. I think it went fairly well.
On Wednesday, we had a staff meeting for the first time in a number of months. There were a lot of presentations, but what really stands out is that the station is in deep financial trouble. We were told to prepare for 5-7 people being laid off. I'm betting that it will be at least 7. My job will be fairly safe, assuming that we continue with local production. That may be a big assumption.
I feel (very) bad for those who may be on the bubble, and have young children and mortgages and such.
Thursday night, I produced pledge for Joe (just one break, as it turned out). Before that, Jason & I shot a promo for the Folk Tradition radio program with Bob Blackman. It went very well.
On a much lighter note, Sarah returned from Oman on Friday. We picked her up from DTW on Friday night. Her plane landed at 5:00pm, but she didn't get through customs until about 6. She had been traveling for about 27 hours and she was exhausted. I would have been in a coma, myself.
I am very happy that she is back. I really missed my kid.
Here's the Folk Tradition spot:
