15 Weeks

Labor Day weekend.

Two days Up North, by myownself.

Frankly, I was lonely. I really don't like it when the three of us are in three different places. I've gotten used to Sarah being in DC (kinda), but when I think of us all spread out...

Anyway, I did some of the normal things. Went to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. I bought 2 "Smores" cookies on a whim. Two for $1.25. Damn they were good.

Later, I went to the Senior Citizens' Beach. I took a book and spent a couple of hours.

That was about it. I went back to the beach on Sunday. Read some more. Came back home and watched a little TV.

Finished Season 5 of "Downton Abbey".

I didn't say it was an exciting weekend.

All in all, it was restful.

One of the main reasons I wanted to go this weekend was to check on the storm damage from the big storm earlier in the month. They've done some work, but it still looks like some trees will have to go. I'm worried that if they take down the trees I think they need to take down, my end of the property is going to be very bare. I loved to sit under those trees by the lake.

I guess we'll see what the plans are. There has been no communication from Tim or the Board. I need to contact them.

I did a lot of texting and talking on the phone with Sarah this weekend. That was nice. She moved to a new apartment, and kept me informed of her progress and challenges. I really miss her.

Kids grow up. Dammit.

Oh yeah...15 weeks until my (planned) retirement. I'm getting edgy. Stock market has taken a large dive in the past couple of week.
