Saturday started normal with my weekly Meijer run for groceries. I kind of look forwward to that, because it's a constant no-surprises job. I really don't mind buying groceries.
Anyway, it looked to be a cold, rainy day. And it was. So, I finally hooked up the DVD/VCR that I bought a week ago. The plan is to transfer a lot of home movies and such that we have on VHS to DVD. The first thing we transfered was an old movie Tamsyn had bought, "Ollie Hopnoodles Haven of Bliss" that we've had on VHS for a while. The recorder seems to work great.
The other thing I did this afternoon was to hook up the stereo in the living room. It really hadn't worked in a while, and it was just kind of forgotten about. Anyway, I moved the shelves out and reconnected the speaker wires that had come unhooked for some reason, and now we can listen to CDs and the radio again.
Next was the MSU football game on Saturday night. This is the 8th night game at Spartan Stadium. (I've only been to one other, I think). It was against undefeated Iowa. Lots of pre-game buildup. I was just worried that it would still be cold and rainy all night.
Turns out the weather was the best thing that happened Saturday night. It was a defensive game all the way, with MSU taking a 13-9 lead late in the 4th. Then Iowa scored on the last play of the game to win 15-13. Lots of unhappy people. Me, included.
But, the rain stayed away, and it actually became one of those crisp Fall nights. It was chilly, not cold. And the layers I wore worked great. At least I just had one reason to be miserable.
Sunday, I went to Home Depot and got some lumber that Tamsyn needed for her sewing room. I like shopping at Home Depot, too.
Transfered a couple more movies to DVD. Gotta start on home movies soon.
Tonight I turned on the Celtic music program on our station and listened to it while I was reading. I had forgotten how nice an evening of reading and listening to good music was.
