A beautiful day.
I went for a bike ride this morning along the TART, headed downtown along the bay. I went past the volleyball nets, and then turned back. It took me a couple of hours, but that includes the time I sat on a bench and stared at the water. I was in no hurry, and stopped a few times to take pictures.
The only other thing that was noteworthy today was that I called Sarah in Oman this afternoon. It was great to talk with her again. We talked for about 18 minutes. She seems to be doing fine, and is in great spirits; as far as I can tell. She will move in with her host family tomorrow. I am anxious to hear about that.
I am still getting used to the idea that she is 8 time zones away. That's quite a distance. Still not comfortable with that, and likely I won't be. Ever. But, she seems safe and happy and that's what's most important.
It was warm enough to read by the lake today. So...I did. Yay! Stayed out until after sunset.
