Today is the day I have been dreading for a long time. We took Sarah to DTW for her flight to Frankfort and then to Oman. She will be gone 15 weeks.
In my mind, I know this is a wonderful thing for Sarah. She has the opportunity to learn an amazing amount about a different culture, economic theory and practice, and a lot about herself.
But, she has been gone only a few hours, and I miss her already. I have become accustomed to having her in DC, and in the back of my mind I always knew that I could jump in a car and be with her in 10 hours. Now...not so much.
I am very lucky to have Sarah for a daughter. She's a sweetie. After 20 years, my heart still melts when she says "Daddy".
I'm really looking forward to December 11th.
Mike, you will miss her - and she you ; however Oman is full of kind people and the phone service works so I am certain you will feels shes only next door
